Hopefully a simple question (or at least there might be a simple answer). Using a few dates here to give an example situation ...- Currently aged 60- Currently working full time- looking to officially retire on July 1.- Retirement will allow me to trigger pension phase for my SMSF on July 2.- Take a leisurely week off, enjoy the fresh air.

- Return to full employment with same company on July 8.From everything I can find and read this seems to be a valid sequence of events, with no issues. Am I missing anything here ? Is there anything I need to be aware of?

This does not look like a genuine retirement to me - would also appear to fail test for ceasing employment after reaching age 60.

When I worked for a Vic govt agency, employees sometimes did this to get paid out acrued AL and LSL.

It was called break of service - but did not result in loss of seniority. They did lose all accrued sick leave.

I think that you are only describing break of service, not retirement.
