Hi there,

I have lodged tax return and I urgently need it for a property purchase. How can I escalate this? This is a serious matter that may mean the purchase of my property falls through.

@jmorassayan

Did you lodge yourself or via a Tax Agent?

A Tax Agent would be able to give you a copy of your Income Tax Account showing lodgement.

A Tax Agent would have given you a printout of the Tax Return (some Banks require signed Returns).

I understand the ATO is issuing Assessments within 7-10 days.

Your Assessment would be available in your myGov/myTax.

Hi @jmorassayan,

As @DuncanS has asked, it's important to know how you lodged your tax return (online, paper or through an agent?), and how long ago?

Different lodgment methods have different standard processing times, and we aren't able to provide a faster service, even if you contact us directly. The only exception is for individuals in financial difficulty after experiencing a disaster (for example floods, bushfires).

If you lodged online or through an agent, your notice of assessment (NOA) will available online once your return finalises. You'd likely receive a text message to check your myGov inbox if you lodged it yourself.

Hopefully the processing stages are finalised swiftly and your notice of assessment is available soon.
