I had switched from using the old Business Portal to the new Online Services quite some time ago, using my MyGovID to login (via iPhone authorisation) and I could access all my related ABNs (Company, SMSF, etc) and switch between them quickly to make tax reporting efficient... but now the ATO has broken it. I went to do my BAS today (2 October) and I see that the old Business Portal has been retired (fine), but when I login to the ATO Online Services (Business) using my MyGovID it says that I have no ABNs linked!! Clicking the link to 'Add an ABN' results in a page saying: Insufficient access You do not have access to this page or resource. If you believe you have reached this page in error, contact [Removed by moderator] 539 to report the issue. What the hell is going on? Of course the only 'solution' is to phone a number during business hours. This is infuriating.

Hi @ALouiseV

Assuming it's the same myGovID account, you shouldn't need to link up the ABNs again so long as you've gotten your identity strength back up. It isn't to do with you registering as a director, either.

However, if you do need to link ABNs again, as a principal person you'll need a strong identity strength to do it yourself.

If you're able to get a strong identity strength, you can link up the ABNs in the relationship authorisaton manager in most cases. If you're not able to, you'll need to follow the instructions for primary persons instead. You can read how to do both on the relationship authorisation manager page for principal authorities.

Hi @nitramluap The website to check or add ABNs is the Relationship Authorisation Manager. Are you able to log in directly through there, rather than the redirection link? You can do so here: https://info.authorisationmanager.gov.au/ When you do log in, check under view or manage authorisations to confirm which entity’s you’re connected to. I’d also recommend clearing your browser’s cache and cookies to give your browser a reset. This might also cause issues.

I have the same problem as nitramluap. Online Services with MyGovID worked for a very long time with no issue. Now, it says no ABN linked. So then I go to the RAM to try to link it, but logging into RAM with MyGovID throws this: 'Insufficient access You do not have access to this page or resource. If you believe you have reached this page in error, contact 1300 287 539 to report the issue. ' Something is very, very wrong. And it's been this way for a while now. Fortunately I can still login to the Tax portal with MyGov (not MyGovID), which is the only way I can pay my BAS. I hope this method doesn't break..

I upgraded my MyGovID identity strength from 'standard' to 'strong', and now it seems I can login to the Online Services *and* RAM without getting any errors about no linked ABN or 'Insufficient Access'. RAM shows my ABN correctly linked. So it seems you require 'Strong' identity level to make the access work.. that's the only thing I changed to make it work.

Hi thanks for the tip - I did this as I also upgraded my phone, but it still didn't help. However I have gone from Basic to Standard security level. Now I just have to get my ABNs linked again....

Could this have something to do with registering as a director?

@BlakeATO

I'm in the same situation but the problem is I don't have an AU passport as I'm a permanent resident. I've managed to get all the other identity in to mygovID which got me to standard but it won't let me link my ABN via ram

Hi Thanks for the tip - I also upgraded my phone & MyGovID kept saying No ABN linked to my account & then RAM wouldn't allow me to link an ABN - I did as you suggested deleted MyGovID app reinstalled it had to enter my identify information again & now it works as per normal

Thanks for this. It probably saved me hours on the phone.

I also had the same issue. If you get a new phone, especially a new iPhone and transfer your data, MyGovID looks okay, but in reality, you have to delete the app and re-build it from the start. If you don't do this, you won't be able to log in and view your entities.
