I am a NFP, registered for GST. A sponsor of an event wants me to issue an invoice with no GST as they have stated that they don't pay GST. I didn't think that I could issue an invoice without GST even if they are exempt in some way. Their ABN registration states that they have a GST concession. I have agreed that we will issue an invoice for the total amount of $ 10k instead of $ 10k + GST and that we will swallow the GST cost ourselves of the $ 909.09. They want an invoice that doesn't show GST as they say that they don't pay GST. Is this possible at all?

Hi @EmmaH, You're correct, once you're registered for GST you must include it in all the invoices you issue. You can't emit it just because the recipient of the invoice is not registered for GST.
