Hi @Asumah
To claim your motor vehicle expenses for Amazon Flex, you'll need to use one of three methods:
- cents per kilometre method
- logbook method
- actual costs method (if the vehicle is not a car, or not owned by you).
If you're using the logbook method or the actual costs method, you will need a logbook to work out your business portion of expenses. At minimum, your logbook should include:
- when the logbook period begins and ends
- the car’s odometer readings at the start and end of the logbook period
- the total number of kms done during the logbook period
- the odometer readings at the start and end of each later income year your logbook is valid for
- the business-use percentage for the logbook period
- the make, model, engine capacity and registration number of the car.
For each journey, you need to record the:
- reason for the journey (business or private)
- start and end date
- odometer readings at the start and end
- kilometres travelled.
Because there are so many things the logbook needs to account for, you may find the GPS method included in your app may not suffice.
We can't help with the intricacy's of the app, since it isn't a product we made or handle. You may want to speak with Amazon Flex direct for help there. :)
