I have an employee who has recently started work and advised she was a non-resident for tax purposes. She has now advised (after the first fortnightly pay period) that she does qualify as a resident for tax purposes and has requested I alter the tax withheld. I am using STP. It also appears that I can change the declaration statements in my payroll software (QB Payroll) but will I need a new TFN declaration or is there another form?

Hello @Styvo51,

When your employees circumstances change that would affect their withholding like residency a new TFN withholding declaration should be filled out. As that will be your evidence of how you are required to withhold for them. You should be able to update this in your STP enabled software for future pay events, if you require assistance setting that up you may need to contact your software provider support.
