When trying to fill out an objection form I am met with this question at No. 8b: "There are time limits when lodging an objection which depends on the type of decision you are objecting to. You may want to lodge this objection because you received a letter from us advising you that your amendment request was out of time. However, this will mean that your objection is also outside the time limit." So I look it up and the limit for objections is four years? Four years?! I'm aware that amendments have a limit of two years, but have NEVER been advised of a time limit on objections. The entire point as far as I've been advised is to object to the time limits on the amendments in the first place. I am trying to amend my tax returns as far back as 2015 because of possible income that was forgotten about, that's more than a tad outside of four years. I AM TRYING TO CO-OPERATE. The form then refers to 'PS LA 2003/7' for "reasons" you can give the Commissioner for being late with an objection, but nothing in that article falls under "I knew nothing about any of this until now but am still bound by law to obey it retroactively anyway". HOW am I supposed to come forward with new information (as required by law) if the OFFICIAL mechanism for doing so is time-gated?? TL;DR 1) I have possible forgotten income. 2) Objections are not working (see above). 3) How do I declare forgotten income now?

Hiya @yourbook,

I know it seems you're unable to object. The time frame you are talking about is to object to a decision we have made about your income tax return. Your objection, is actually objecting to the time limit for amendments applying. I know it sounds really confusing, but you are definitely still able to lodge an objection!
