I too would love to know more about this.
FYI the PM's words were (from news.com.au's transcription):
... Prime Minister Scott Morrison has again ruled out making rapid antigen Covid tests free when he appeared on Sunrise on Monday morning.
“We already make them free to everyone who is required to have one,” Mr Morrison told Sunrise on Monday.
“They are also tax deductible."
“We are now at this stage of the pandemic we just cannot make everything free because when someone tells you they will make something free, someone will always pay for it, and it is going to be you.”

Hi Kylie,
Can the ATO provide urgent clarification of the Prime Minister's statement of 3/1/2022 that RAT's are tax deductible?
The current ATO published guidelines say RAT's are only tax deductible in work related circumstances as per normal tax law.
If PM Morrison has negotiated special arrangements with the tax commissioner these arrangements should be publicised as soon as possible.
People are needing to make these important spending decisions right now and they also need to know if they require proof of purchase receipts for the tax deduction.
The ATO must verify Morrison's public claim or provide guidance.
