How do I calculate the superannuation payment for a casual employee who only works on some weekends and he is on o/t weekend rates?
Hi @ChristineN
Is the employee being paid overtime rates, weekend rates, or both?
Weekend rates are shift loadings and are still superable.
Depending on the workplace agreement and whether it specifies ordinary work hours, the overtime can be either superable or not. You'll need to check the Fair Work agreement or award to check their ordinary hours.
You can take a look at our list of payments that are ordinary time earnings (and therefore superable) on our website.

This employee used to work full-time with us, but now he only works on weekends and is being paid at overtime rates, e.g. say he worked 8 hours on Saturday, the first two hours are paid at time and a half and double time thereafter.
We have been paying him superannuation @ 10% of his gross earnings. I'm not sure if this is the correct calculation to pay for his superannuation, or do we need to only pay him super at his ordinary rate instead of overtime rate?@BlakeATO @BlakeATO
