First, you'll need to establish if you're an Australian resident for tax purposes, if so you'll need to declare your world-wide income.


Foreign residents only declare the income they earn from Australian sources. If you're a foreign resident completing the work overseas in a foreign country, the income from an Australian employer would be deemed foreign sourced. You can check out the information on our web site that talks about sources of income.


There's also information for your employer under employees who work in a foreign country.
