Hi we are a couple (no dependants) earning above 280k. as per the table MLS is 1.5% of the annual income.

Just wanted to confirm do we have to take a private health insurance with a premium of minimum 4200 (1.5% of 280k) in order to avoid MLS OR if we take any basic hospital cover from a registered insurance provider with an excess of 1500 or less be sufficient?

Thus definition of appropriate health cover is just meeting of the 3 criteria hospital cover from registered insurance provider with an excess of 1500 or less be sufficient? and there is no condition on amount of premium to be paid.
