Is a contractor's superannuation guarantee amount calculated on the date that they invoice the employer or the date that the invoice is paid? I'm of the understanding it's the date the invoice is paid but I can't seem to find that written anywhere.

Hi @KRennie,

The super rate will be based on when the payment is being made. When a contractor is entitled to super, the employer treats them as an employee for super purposes. When paying employees, the rate applicable is based on when the payment is actually made. The same rules apply to contractors.
