I am an Australian Resident and I have been working for my employer for 2 years( I have not claimed for the tax-free threshold ever since I started). Last week, I decided to claim for the tax-free threshold, updated my details through the ATO account, and submitted a print out copy of the confirmation from ATO to my employer. Unfortunately, my employer is still deducting under the “No tax-free threshold” to my fortnightly earnings. Is there any waiting period before I can avail of the “With tax-free threshold”? Can you please provide a valid link from ATO so that I can show it to them. Thank you

Hello there @Jen0219
There is no waiting period for changes to your withholding declaration. Once you gave your employer the new form it cancelled out the old one. Changes are to apply from any pay after you provided this form. The payers obligations for this can be found on our website.
