I am trying to do my tax return. My accountant says that a local council has submitted $46,512 on my abn for 21-22, this amount however is for 20-21 (which I declared and paid tax on) . I checked with the council and they say my accountant or ATO is wrong and that they submitted the correct amount (as I have declared) of just $5,000 for 21-22 When I look at my income statement from ATO for the financial year just gone the $46,512 is not there- who is wrong? I'm stuck in the middle! Should what my tax agent is saying show on my income statement? As it doesnt.

Hello there @jojofreo
Yes your accountant can see more than the amounts reported on your income summary. Tax agents can run pre-fill reports which show payments that do not appear under the income statement section. This includes taxable payment annual reports and other forms of income such as interest and dividends.
