It is my first time lodging a tax return but I have not linked Mygov to ATO.
I follow instructions on how to link them and did three times, resulting in blocking my link and waiting for 1 hour.
I filled in 2 information (Bank account and gross amount) but it did not allow me to link them. The first attempt called ATO and came up with a waiting period of more than 1 hour, finally, the ATO representative picked up the phone but, he said the system was down and could not answer any question related to my problem.
The second attempt, called ATO (a week later), again, needs to wait for more than 1 hour (1 hour and 18 minutes to be specific). ATO representative pick up the phone and said hello. I said hello back, and said hello a couple of times still no reply voice. 3 minutes later, it shut off.
I want to try the third one but, it seems to me that it is a waste of my time. On the other hand, I need to lodge my tax return, if not ATO will chase me and send me a penalty for not lodging. Oh my god, is there any other way to reduce the time waste just to link Mygov to ATO? What is the best solution to address this issue? or do I need to go to ATO and show my problem? Look forward a response from ATO representative
