My son is 8 years old and I have opened a bank account and purchased shares for him via an informal trust whereby I have quoted my TFN.
I realised that I should have applied for a TFN for my son and quoted his TFN instead. Is it possible to remove my TFN and replace it with my son’s TFN or is a TFN not able to be changed once it has been applied to a bank account and share account?
You need to provide the correct TFN to the bank, and request that the TFN be updated.
