I was using the FHSSS and made a determination and released the funds.

I signed a contract to purchase an existing property to be used as my first home and completed the notification within the 28 days of signing.

The seller was subsequently unable to meet the conditions so the contract was terminated before settlement.

There is no option online to modify or withdraw a notification.

How can we cancel the prior notification and keep looking for a property?

We are still within the 12 month period to enter into a contract.

Hi @FHSS_Buyer5

If the signed contract has been terminated there’s no online option to remove it. Our Superannuation area can only do this for you when you get in touch directly and you should do this as soon as you can. Once the form is cancelled you can make a subsequent notification via ATO online.

Your obligations to either sign a contract to purchase, build your first home or recontribute within 12 months still apply from the original release request date.

If you do not sign a contract to purchase or construct a home within 12 months from the date you requested a release, we’ll give you an automatic extension for a further 12 months.

Check our website for more details about what happens after your FHSS amounts have been released.
