Hi all

bit of background, I work for a non for profit that has charity and DGR status. we rent a privetly owned building through a real estate company to operate out of.

If the owner of the building were to lease the property to us for free, would they be able to claim a deduction.

TIA

Hi @Gilgamesh,

Generally, rent is charged at commercial rates. Are you asking if the landlord can claim a deduction for the rent amount they would've otherwise been charging you?

That's a good question.
