The Award we pay our staff under includes a specific allowance and our organisation amalgamated this allowance with the weekly normal pay over 20 years ago. The amount of the allowance is specified in our award but our payslip does not show it as a separate amount paid, however, there is notation on the payslip stating that the weekly pay includes an amount of $x per day for the allowance.

Will we need to split the allowance from the weekly pay so

that it can be identified and coded as an allowance under STP2?  Or with the amount of time that we have been

amalgamating the allowance mean that we do not need to do this?

Hiya @Sarah99

Wouldn't that be delightful? But, sadly, no, you can't continue to meet just the Fair Work Regulations 2009 S3.46 about the payslip and "if you can't do that then have a payslip message" because the ATO introduced STP2 rules to align with that regulation, but NOT the exception!

That is, by meeting the ATO STP2 requirement, you will still meet your Fair Work regulation but, by only meeting the Fair Work regulation with a message, you won't meet your ATO STP2 requirement.

The excellent ATO STP2 Employer Guidance and webinars and videos all cover this exact issue in detail. They are detailed and very helpful.
