I do not have an Australian passport, therefore I cannot link my MyGov ID with my business on RAM. My ID only gets me to standard security.

I have called at least 15 times to talk to someone who can help me with this issue and consistently get the “peak demand message”, or placed on hold for lengthy periods.

I was on hold for over an hour last Friday and then the lady hung up on me. Is there people manning the phones? Why is there no call back options?

what service is there available, that will be answered by a real person to help with my issue?

Hi @Greig_Lamont,

If you need to set-up RAM without using a passport, you can view your options from here - Accessing your myGovID and RAM with online services. This provides guidance on what you can do if you can't prove strong identity for myGovID.

When connecting your business in the relationship authorisation manager (RAM), if you're a principal person (like a director, sole trader, or trustee) and you can't get a strong identity strength to link online, you'll need to follow the process for a primary person.

You can check the full list of identity strength requirements for services on the myGovID site, and find out the process for linking as a primary person on the RAM site.

If you also need to apply for a Director ID, you may wish to request an extension using the form via this link.

I am having a similar issue - I am the principal authority for an overseas client, shown as such on the ABR, and cannot link the business. They need me to do this so I can authorise a BAS agent to act on their behalf. Calling the 1300 number results in a message saying they are experiencing peak demand and to call back later. I have called back later multiple times with the same result. How can this be resolved??

Hey @SMEPerth,

We're sorry you're having trouble getting through. Unfortunately, we're experiencing high call volumes and we ask that you persevere, and someone will be able to assist you. The best time to contact us is first thing of a morning which is 8am local time.

Hope this helps!
