Hi @bluey111,

In what state or territory was your certificate issued in, is it also WA?

You might want to have a look at the information on the myGovID website for some tips.

Hey @ShelleyCox,

Sorry you're having trouble verifying your Birth Certificate. WA Birth certificates can be tricky and very likely that it won't verify if you put the details in exactly as they appear on the certificate.

The registration number needs to be 6-7 digits. Some examples below of what the registration number could look like and how you'll put it in.

If the registration number looks like: 654321X/200 then the number, you'll use is 654321. If it looks like 001454W/74 then you'll use 001454.

If it looks like: 1/4923/90/X, then you'll input 104923 If it looks like 12/123/67/W then you'll use 1200123.

It can also look like 102/78 and then have words after it e.g., In the Williams district. You'll ignore the '78 part and you'll use the district number of 67 which is the district number for the Williams district followed by 00 and then 102 so it'll look like 6700102.

If none of the above examples work and both parents are listed in the same section of the document and the birth was registered in Perth use 99 as the district number. It will look like 9900102.

You can access the WA district codes on our website which will be able to assist you ito determine the correct district.
