I work from home most days of the week. I appreciate I can claim some expenses (electricity, IT equipment, etc.). Recently, I was burgled. Whilst I have an alarm system, I've decided to upgrade it to make my property more secure.
Can I pay for the cost of the upgrade through my business?

The expense needs to relate directly to you earning income. If it does then you can claim only the portion thats related to your business.
