You can check out the update your name (https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Tax-file-number/Update-your-TFN-registration-details/Update-your-name/) information page to see the acceptable poi documents for changing your name. If a marriage certificate is the easiest document to use, then you may need to contact Births, Deaths and Marriages Tasmania to confirm the details required. You can also apply for a copy that would have the relevant information for potential future use.
