I'm a sole trader web designer who has undertaken self-initiated, informal self-education projects that relate improve the specific skills I need for my current line of work.
These projects however are self-initiated: I'm educating myself via online communities, videos, and forums. There is no education institution, conference, online course, or anyone else involved.
Can I still claim expenses used for these self-initiated, self-education projects despite the fact they are not within a formal course structure?
My expenses fall under 'equipment or technical instruments (costing $300 or less)', if it matters. Thanks.
