I need you expert advise.

Based on the ATO guide Franking account balance should have been filed on or before July 31, 2022.

  1. Is it right to assume that there is a probable general interest charge?
  2. Usually, the penalty can only be identified and paid after the return is lodged?

You only lodge if the is franking deficit tax to be paid - you have not said whether there is or not.

If there is, then you need to lodge ASAP and pay FD tax now.

If there is a late payment/lodgement penalty, ATO will issue to you.
