Hey all,

I’ve seen similar topics in the forum but I’m confused. I’m going to invoice my client for services that I provided.

As per ATO’s website, I don’t need to register gst as I’m not offering taxi for passengers sort of businesses.

I’m not sure if I am going to make $75k a year. Would that be okay if I add GST in my invoice and pay back to ATO at the end of the financial year regardless of my total income? (actual amount might be different depends on my personal and other income).

Thanks

Hi @lyciaharris,

If you aren't registered, you shouldn't invoice for GST. This page on how to invoice can hopefully help you out here.

With GST registration, you'd need to register within 21 days of your GST turnover exceeding the $75,000 threshold. So if you aren't sure if you'll reach the threshold at the moment, thats fine.
