I have submitted a DIN application at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo on November 9, 2022, but have not yet received any notification of the screening results. I also learned that may usually take more than 3 months to process, but it's already more than 100days. I would appreciate if you could advise me on the status of the status of the process.

Thank you.

Hi @KHayakawa,

If you are a non-resident without a personal tax record it can take longer to process the application. It can take 56 business days to process a paper application.

I would advise not to reapply as that may cause further delays. If there is an issue processing it, we would make contact via email. You can check your junk and spam folders to ensure we are not trying to make contact.

When we process the Director ID, the confirmation goes via post. It may be processed, but it could take some time to be received overseas.

Hey @KHayakawa,

You've mentioned that you submitted your application to the Australian Embassy in Tokyo. This isn't the correct way to submit your director id application. Your director id application needs to be posted. You'll need to send the application and your certified identity documents to the ABRS. The address can be found on the bottom of the application form.

You can read more about applying for your director identification number for people who live outside Australia on the ABRS website.
