Hi,

I've recently started a company, and am trying to access Online Services For Business.

When logging in I'm taken to an error page stating "No Australian Business Number found", and that I need to link an ABN to access the online services. That's all fine, nothing unexpected there.

When I click "link an ABN" however, it redirects me to a page on authorisationmanager.gov.au and prompts me to enter an authorisation code "as shown in the authorisation email you received". But no matter how many times I do this, I don't receive any such email.

There's also no mention on the page of WHICH email address they are referring to (nor is there a resend email button). But there's nothing in the email associated with my MyGovID, or any other email account I can think to check, including spam folders etc.

The only similar questions on this site that I've found with conclusive answers, have been chalked up to site maintenance.

No clue what to try next! Any help would be very appreciated.

Hey @-.-.-.-.-.-,

There's a couple of things this could be.

Is your identity strength within MyGovID 'strong' identity strength? You won't be able to self-link if not.

Also, being able to link yourself depends on whether there's a principal authority listed on the ABR or a corporate trustee which would then make you the primary person.

A couple of questions -

Are you listed on the ABR as an individual director? or is your company a corporate trustee? i

If a corporate trustee is listed on the ABR and not an individual director there is nothing to match against to show that you're the director of that company. If this happens then you'll need to request an authorisation code. Unfortunately, it's not something that will appear in your emails.

You can read more about other ways to link your business and how to get an authorisation code on our website. Let us know how that goes and if it makes sense.
