Is the overseas pension contribution earned before becoming permanent resident subject to tax?

This sounds like an overseas provident fund, but please correct me if I'm wrong. If it's a provident fund and you receive a lump sum amount, then the amounts you and your employer have contributed over the years since the fund was opened, are not included when determining the assessable amount. What you'd need to include is any interest that accrued on contributions made since your fund started, in respect to the lump sum you withdraw.
