HI there

I lodged a Notice of Objection last December. Upload to the OLSfA.

How long does ATO take to allocate this task to a human, so the process of determination can commence ?

Hey @Peter_Clyne,

Unfortunately, there is no specific timeframe for an objection to be actioned. They are all treated on a case-by-case basis and depending on the facts that are provided and if we need any more information. If it's going to take longer than usual, we will let you know.

If we haven't responded to your objection in 60 days of lodgement you can give us written notification to make a decision. If we don't make a decision in 60 days, then your objection is disallowed, and you can then seek an external review by a court or tribunal.

Thanks for reply, however I'm disinterested in referring this to AAT or Federal Court.

That would be a completely unnecessary waste of time and money.

I just want a human at ATO to look at the objection, and fix the ATO mistake.

Hi @Peter_clyne,

I agree that is a long time for us to start on an objection, usually when it is allocated to a person they will contact you to let you know their details etc. I would suggest you call and see if it has been received and allocated or waiting to be assigned, as much as we would love to check it out for you we don't have access to client systems.
