Hi ATO community,

Hope this email finds you well.

I am writing to ask you a question about an issue that I am facing at the moment.

We have few employees who worked with us few days and left without providing their TFN details as well as super details.

Is there any way to pay the taxes to ATO even though we are missing employee’s TFN numbers?

I tried to contact the employees, but none of them answered.

Please help.

Hello @Anishaadmin,

This does happen from time to time. Yes you can still report/pay the amounts to the ATO, just remember that since they haven't provided a TFN you're required to withhold more.

If you report via STP just make sure when you have your employee profiles to put all the info you can in the profile. Also keep a record of those individuals and their details just in case you are queried in future. Although a TFN is the best way to make sure records align correctly between payer and payee we do still have other options to make sure the information is attached to the correct individuals.
