If your employer is paying your super to a clearing house (https://www.ato.gov.au/business/super-for-employers/paying-super-contributions/how-to-pay-super/small-business-superannuation-clearing-house/#Usingtheclearinghouseforthefirsttime), the clearing house will then make the super payment to your super fund. Under super guarantee federal legislation, your employer is required to pay SG quarterly by the cut-off date. Your employer may have further SG obligations under an award or agreement. They can contact Fairwork to find out. So, the clearing house are not required to hold your SG for 1yr. Sounds like your employer may not have paid it to them. You can check with your super fund directly and lodge an unpaid super inquiry (https://www.ato.gov.au/calculators-and-tools/report-unpaid-super-contributions-from-my-employer/) with us if your employer has not met their obligation.
