I've been successful in applying for a grant to attend a conference, but have been told I need an ABN and to invoice the charity to be reimbursed. I'm just not sure what category I should be selecting.

That's great you have been successful in applying for a grant.
Are you getting this grant for the conference for your business? I would be checking to see if you are entitled to have an ABN. If you are entitled, how you structure your business is up to you. On our entitlement page on the left-hand side, it has the different structures you can consider.
When choosing the business activity. There is a blue question mark on the right when you are asked 'what is your main business activity'. That again gives you more information to help you choose.

Hi, thanks for the reply. No I am attending as an individual. I don't have a business, I work in the public healthcare system.

You'd need to select the reason that matches your situation. You may not be entitled to an ABN and may need to speak with the grantor.
