We are an incorporated body that reports to ACNC and does not have directors and we have not reported to ASIC for many years since they changed the rules for charities. In the form for the Director ID one of the declarations is

An eligible officer is:

  • an appointed director or alternate director (acting in that capacity), of a company, body corporate that is a registered Australian body, or registered foreign company or an [Removed by moderator] corporation.

Tick to agree - I am not a director, we are not a company, or body corporate etc.

Also we were not sent any letters to get an ID until I changed some information on the ACNC and they sent it to only 2 of us - not all the people on the committee. This is very frustrating for a tiny organisation to have to try and navigate through this corporate guff!

Anyone who is a director of a charity that's a company will need to apply for a director ID. So depending on the information you've updated with the ACNC as to why you've now received notification to apply for a director ID, you may now be classed as an eligible officer.
