So, I have a bunch of $$$ I am trying to pay for our PAYG withholding. Done it many times with the online system. Then I upgraded my phone.

I've set up MyGovID with my personal email address, as I always do. all I did was opened the app on the new phone (I use a fingerprint).

The problem is, when I get in there, it tells me I have no ABN attached. When I try to take the option to attach one, I get a message saying I'm not authorised to go any further.

So, I tried my old phone, and here's where it gets interesting - the number generated does not match the one on the screen. It's almost as though there are two accounts with the same email. Net result? Can't pay my tax!

No probs, I'll cal the ATO. But several attempts, including repeatedly entering ABNs and TFN all have the same result - right at the end of the call they tell me they are too busy and I can basically get stuffed.

How the hell do I pay my tax?

Hi @RGHS,

I'm sorry to hear you have not been able to get through on the phone lines.

When you change devices, you need to re-create the myGovID exactly as you have originally. To do this you use the same email address and need to reverify the same documents you used originally.

When trying to access the online services, if it is saying you have no businesses linked. The business may still be linked but if you if you have only a Basic identity strength, you will not be able to access the online services. You need a minimum standard identity strength on the myGovID.

Let us know how you go.
