We purchase disability products (eg: lift hoists etc) for a client in the disability industry, and then either provide them to our client for disbursement to patients, or install these items for our client's patients. Assuming these goods are purchased GST free, must we then sell them on as GST free items or does the act of providing/installing the item (and applying our margin) mean we have to sell it with GST which we then revert to the ATO?

Hi @Glynn,

We need to look the eligibility for the GST exemption, it includes if the item is listed in schedule 3 of the GST Act. Physical transfer aids such as a hoist sling is on there for example, therefore GST free. Even though you're on selling, you don't need to charge GST.
