My spouse received about $1000 in interest income this year from a bank account.

This is her only income. She has no other taxable income from any other source nor any claimable deductions.

Obviously this amount is below the tax-free threshold ($18,200) and so she wont be required to pay any tax on that income.

My question relates to what figure I put on my tax return when I enter her income amount.

Do I need to declare it as her income (and therefore added to our family income), or is her income still classified as zero as there's no tax to be paid on her $1000?

Thanks.

You need to show spouse income = $ 1000
