So I lodged my income tax return for 2022 on 10 June 2023. This is how it went down:

Processed date: 16 Jun 2023

Effective date: 21 Nov 2022

Description: Cancellation of Tax return Individuals - Income Tax for the period from 01 Jul 21 to 30 Jun 22

Debit (DR): $ amount

Credit:

Balance: $0.00

processed date: 14 Jun 2023

Effective date: 21 Nov 2022

Description: Tax return Individuals - Income Tax for the period from 01 Jul 21 to 30 Jun 22

Debit (DR)

Credit: $ amount

Balance: $ amount

I want to know if this is normal, it had never happened to me before or how it will take to resolve since effective date is 21 Nov 2022.

Hello @Kwai21,

The effective date is always the date the document was originally due, so that isn't something that you have to worry about. The reason why it has been cancelled and then added is usually when we have had to manually check something or possibly make a change. This just looks strange as our system is a live system. Basically your return is usually processed within 14 days if you lodged electronically unless we have had to do some work on it. If it gets to 28 days thats usually the time that we expect that something may be delaying it further. As the initial service standard hasn't been met yet, I would suggest waiting a little longer and then checking your communication history to see if we have sent a notice of assessment out.
