We are a registered New Zealand company with NZBN. We have recently undertaken to employ an Australian citizen remotely from her location in Adelaide. While we are not generating income in Australia we are wanting to register for PAYG withholding to pay salary, tax, medicare and super.

How do we go about PAYG withholding registration as a NZ company employing in Australia? Also how do we establish STP?

Hi @NationDW

If your business doesn't have an ABN here and you're not required to have one you can apply for a PAYG withholding account. You can read more about when you don't have an ABN on our website.

To report via STP you need STP-enabled software or you can get a third-party to report for you. There are a few options. In saying that if have no presence here you won't need to report via STP. Check out if you're an employer who doesn't need to report.
