Hello,

I am just going to explain my situation a bit further.

I recently graduated from my university and received a degree.

In my final year I started working part time at a job relative to my degree.

Upon graduation my work hired me full-time and I started to receive a salary as opposed to hourly pay. I believe this satisfies the requirements as self-education.

Now that I am on the 485 temporary graduate visa and I am working full-time could any tuition I paid while I was working be deductible?

It was not a loan it was my own money used to pay for this tuition but it was money earned in another country.

Thank you for your help.

Regards

Hi @laurenm2000,

If your study was sufficiently connected to your job for that year, then yes you can claim self-education expenses! From what you've described you would be eligible to claim.
