I am a temporary resident for past 5 years and haven't applied for Medicare levy exemption before. Now that I learnt about this and applied for MES statement. Can you help me with some information on what would be the procedure to claim back medicare levy that was charged for last 4 years?

Hi @Pradeepn556

If you have not claimed the exemption in the past, you can lodge an Amendment.

Please be aware that amendments for Individuals and sole traders generally have 2 years to submit an amendment for your tax return. This time starts from the day after your notice of assessment is sent to you.
