Do the ATO keep a record of invoices/income for a sole trader?

My husband has an ABN and does some extra work on top of his usual employment. His car was stolen late last year and subsequently found burnt out. He had some of his own copies of invoices for the work he'd done under his ABN in his glovebox so has lost them. Do the ATO keep a record of invoices under an ABN or will he have to contact the people he's done work for and ask for them to send a copy back to him?
