I'm a.pensioner having work part time for $8700 which is work bonus and test free area on the 2023 return it calculates that I owe $220 tax which is totally incorrect how do I get around this

Hard to say without seeing what you're entering and where. Have you double checked you've entered the right amounts in the right sections? Also might pay to use our tool to check if you need to lodge. See how you get on.
