Hello people!

I lodged my return on the 2nd of July, and a few days later it switched to the "Balancing account" step, in past years its only stayed at this step for a day or 2 and then i got my refund pretty soon after. This year however, my return has been balancing for 2 weeks now, i have never experienced this before. Should i be concerned? is this a normal time frame sometimes?

Thanks

Hi @jbaldwin,

Sometimes tax returns can be held up in the "balancing account" stage while we balance the result of your tax return with your accounts with us and other Australian Government agencies (such as Centrelink or Child Support).

It doesn't necessarily mean there's anything wrong with your tax return! You should receive an outcome sometime soon.
