Please help me with my situation it is slightly different.

I am on subclass 600 visitor visa residing in Australia and applied for 190 Victoria. The bridging visa will get activated on August 16th 2023.

I am looking to start doing job from August 16th and started applying for jobs. I have received an offer and they ask for TFN.

Now how do I get my TFN before even I get working rights..Can I use the "TFN using the application for people living outside Australia form" and still be an Australian resident and use that TFN to work in Australia?

 Hello @sati,

How exciting!

As you have already arrived into Australia, you can apply for your TFN online using the Individual Auto Registration (IAR).

You must have a valid passport or relevant travel documents. If you don't have a valid visa, you can't apply for a TFN.

You don't need to send documents to us. Once you have completed your application online, we will post your TFN to the Australian postal address on your application. This can take up to 28 days. We appreciate your patience during the processing period.

Hi Joan, Thanks for the response

All I want to know is whether I will be qualified for this TFN application "Foreign passport holders, permanent migrants and temporary visitors – TFN application"

  1. You are a foreign passport holder, permanent migrant or temporary visitor. (I have foreign passport)
  2. You are already in Australia.(Yes I am in Australia)
  3. Your visa is one of the following
  • a permanent resident visa (Not yet)
    • a visa with work rights(August 16th 190 bridging A)
    • an overseas student visa (No)
    • a visa allowing you to stay in Australia indefinitely (including New Zealanders automatically granted a visa on arrival). (Technically Yes, But not active until August 16th (190 Bridging A which will convert to PR once visa Granted), My tourist visa subclass 600 ends on August 15)

Can you please confirm so that I can apply.
