I have a youtube channel, and my revenue was around 1600 in the last financial year.

To claim it, how can I do that? Should I claim it as a hobby or business? Is there any clear rule?

I have a part-time job ( appx 35K income), do you think I should get ABN for my youtube and declare some equipments such as Adobe subscription and comupter?

Hey @CK123

That’s really cool!

You would need to work out, Are you in business? Because if this is a hobby then no you would not be able to claim back the expenses. There are no specific amounts or tests you need to make in order to be classed as being in business, a large part of it is your intent to make a profit.

We can’t decide for your whether you should register for an ABN and declare yourself as operating a business. That is up to you to decide.
