Hi

I have a client that has unpaid super from March 2021 quarter. I have advised him that he needs to lodge SGC Super statements for late payment with the ATO. His old accountants have advised him this is not the case. From what date does the SGC super statements lodgement apply from and are required to be reported?

Thanks

Hey @Wood101!

You are right, they are required (legally) to complete the SGC Statement, from the 1st day of the 1st outstanding period. They will need to complete 1 SGC Statement per period they haven't paid = a heck of a lot of reporting to do! Fees and charges and interest has been occurring since the the day it went overdue.
