Hi ATO Community


I am still waiting for my HECS 20% to return. I have x amount listed as Credited, and as far as I am aware no outstanding ATO debts. It’s nearly impossible to call, as the line is always busy. Does anyone know when we can expect our credit to come back to our nominated account? And how to find out the status (eg if refund is being processed, etc.?)

  • Call ATO to find out, you would need to keep trying then
  • Alternative is by post or pay a tax agent, they have a separate phone line and is generally quicker than the public phone line
