Hi, I would like to ask for some assistance from overseas. I have left Australia in 2020, now I am trying to link myGov to ATO in order to apply DASP, but during the confirmation of my record (answering 2 shared secrets) it stucks at my bank details even this was my only bank account during my PR in Australia.

Could anyone help me please what has been gone wrong?

Thank you!

Hi @Audrey78,

If you've previously used a tax agent or bookkeeper to lodge your tax returns, the bank account details we have on file might be theirs rather than yours. Tax agents often enter their banking information when they lodge returns so they can deduct their fee from your refund before sending you the remainder. This could be why your bank account details aren't matching during the linking process.

If you're unable to answer any of the security questions with the information available to you, you'll need to phone us. We'll need to ask you questions to establish your identity to protect the privacy of your account.

Hi Jay,

thank you for your information.

I have used two different tax agents, I have already asked for their bank details, I have tried their BSB and bank account numbers, I have also tried my own bank details, none of them was working.

Due to a big time difference between Europe and AU to phone ATO is very difficult for me, is there any chance to fix this issue somehow online?

Thank you for your answer in advance,

Adrienn
