Hi.

I am currently on a temporary work visa and want to link mygov account with ATO but as its my first time, my super and bank account details are not in the records. I am not a PR so I don't have medicare or anything else.

I called ATO for linking code and provided my TFN and details of my foreign passport. The operator said she couldn't verify my identity. How can I link then? I've my super, TFN and foreign passport to verify the ID but supposedly its not enough. Anyone please advise thanks.

If unable to link to ATO, alternative would be to see a tax agent or if this is for lodging tax returns, a paper tax return

Don't think you can use the MyID if it's just basic. You need at least standard to use the online service with ATO. You can use one other other methods to secure your account.

UPDATE: To whoever who reads this, I was able to get on a call with one of the service agents after an hour of wait and he was able to provide me a linking code after verifying my passport details, job, TFN, mobile number and residential address. After that he sent me a linking code via SMS and I was able to link mygov to ATO.
